2's Head Teacher

Overview

JCC Brooklyn North Williamsburg is a progressive Jewish community center that welcomes families of all backgrounds.

We are seeking an experienced toddler teacher who is very personable, nurturing, has people skills and excellent communication skills to perform the following tasks:

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a preschool classroom
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required
• Familiarity with Reggio Emilia and play-based learning philosophies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Responsible, reliable, and highly organized
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a welcoming, nurturing classroom environment for toddlers
• Greet children and parents and help foster strong relationships with families
• Attend to children’s basic needs, including feeding, dressing, and diaper changing
• Plan and lead activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development, including games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests
• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use during learning activities and imaginative play
• Work collaboratively with and mentor the assistant teacher
• Maintain daily communication with parents, including written updates and emails

Schedule

• Full-time position: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with 30 min break

Salary

• $25 - $27 per hour

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
